Description
1986 Saab 900 Turbo 16 · Platinum Blue Metallic · 1,650 km from new
In September 1986, a man ordered a Saab in Abu Dhabi. He specified it to the last detail — Platinum Blue Metallic, Buffalo leather, Canadian spec, manual gearbox — then worked through the factory accessories catalogue with unusual thoroughness. Roof rack, tow bar, snow chains, bicycle carrier, fire extinguisher, child seat, fuel can, textile mats. Thirty factory options, ticked one by one.
The car was built and delivered in Nyköping in December 1986, and driven to a garage in Vouvry, in the Swiss canton of Valais.
And that was that.
Nearly four decades later, the odometer still reads 1,650 kilometres. The paint is original. The interior is original. The accessories — most of them still in their packaging — are original. The car has never been repaired, because nothing ever broke. It has never been restored, because there was nothing to restore.
It is not a survivor. It is a time capsule.
The documentation is complete and intact: the original Saab-Scania factory Certificate of Origin, the signed international sales order from the Abu Dhabi dealership, the Swedish export registration certificate, and the handwritten accessories list on Saab-Scania letterhead. Every paper, from every step, in perfect condition.
One owner. Never modified. Full history from new.
