Der hier angebotene Ferrari Dino 246 GTS wurde im April 1972, in der Farbe Rosso Chiaro und mit schwarzem Interieur, von Ferrari Modena an den offiziellen Ferrari Händler Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. in Egham, England, ausgeliefert. Der Erstbesitzer wanderte in den folgenden Jahren von England in die Schweiz aus und brachte das Auto als Umzugsgut mit. Vor ca. 40 Jahren konnten wir diesen 246 GTS vom Erstbesitzer kaufen und ihn dann über einen Mittelsmann und guten Freund, an den Zweitbesitzer übergeben, wo er bis vor kurzem gehegt und gepflegt wurde.
Es ist kaum zu glauben, aber wies der Zufall so will, haben wir das Auto tatsächlich wieder über einen Mittelsmann und guten Freund gekauft und sind nun in der glücklichen Lage, diesen wunderschönen Ferrari Dino 246 GTS wieder anbieten zu dürfen. Das Auto ist matching numbers and color und befindet sich, mit originalen 22'000 Meilen und Erst-Lack, in unrestauriertem, top gepflegtem und absolut originalem Sammlerzustand. Die Neuwagenrechnungen vom Werk und dem Ferrari Händler in England sowie die Bordmappe mit allen originalen Unterlagen wie Service-/Garantiebüchlein mit Eintrag des Erstbesitzers von 1972, Benutzer- und Wartungshandbuch, Ersatzteilekatalog und das originale Registration Book sind vorhanden.

Der Dino 246 wurde im Frühjahr 1969 auf dem Genfer Auto-Salon als Nachfolgemodell des Dino 206 GT vorgestellt, des ersten von Ferrari produzierten Serienwagens mit Mittelmotor. Die Bezeichnung "246" verweist auf die 2,4 Liter Hubraum und die sechs Zylinder des Motors.
Die Bezeichnung „Dino“ rührt von Enzo Ferraris 1956 jung verstorbenem Sohn Alfredo «Alfredino» her, genannt „Dino“, dessen von ihm konzipierter V6-Motor in den späten 1950er-Jahren in Rennwagen der Formel 1 und der Formel 2 und ab den späten 1960er-Jahren in Seriensportwagen eingesetzt wurde.

The Ferrari Dino 246 GTS offered here was delivered in April 1972 in the color Rosso Chiaro and with a black interior by Ferrari Modena to the official Ferrari dealer Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. in Egham, England. The first owner emigrated from England to Switzerland in the following years and brought the car with him as moving goods. About 40 years ago, we were able to buy this 246 GTS from the first owner and then pass it on to the second owner via an intermediary and good friend, where it was cherished and cared for until recently.
It's hard to believe, but as luck would have it, we actually bought the car again through an intermediary and good friend and are now in the fortunate position of being able to offer this beautiful Ferrari Dino 246 GTS again. The car is matching numbers and color and is, with original 22'000 miles and first paint, in unrestored, top maintained and absolutely original collector's condition. The new car invoices from the factory and the Ferrari dealer in England as well as the on-board folder with all original documents such as service/warranty booklet with entry of the first owner from 1972, user and maintenance manual, spare parts catalog and the original registration book are available.

The Dino 246 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in spring 1969 as the successor to the Dino 206 GT, the first production car with a mid-engine produced by Ferrari. The designation “246” refers to the 2.4 liter displacement and the six cylinders of the engine.
The name “Dino” comes from Enzo Ferrari's son Alfredo “Alfredino”, who died young in 1956 and was known as “Dino”. The V6 engine he designed was used in Formula 1 and Formula 2 racing cars in the late 1950s and in production sports cars from the late 1960s onwards.
