Pure American Muscle – der Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 von 1972 ist einer der faszinierendsten und gleichzeitig seltensten Vertreter aus der goldenen Ära der amerikanischen Muscle Cars.

Dieser legendäre Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 wurde in den vergangenen Jahren ohne Rücksicht auf Kosten vollständig restauriert und auf höchstem Niveau neu aufgebaut. Dabei wurden weit über CHF 200'000.– investiert. Karosserie und Interieur wurden komplett restauriert, die gesamte Elektrik inklusive sämtlicher Kabelbäume erneuert und die komplette Technik entweder ersetzt oder fachgerecht revidiert. Der 400-cui-Pontiac-V8 wurde vollständig neu aufgebaut und mit einem 468-cui-Stroker-Kit auf deutlich mehr Hubraum und Leistung gebracht. Die Kraftübertragung erfolgt über ein Tremec 5-Gang-Schaltgetriebe. Sämtliche technischen Komponenten wurden der gesteigerten Motorleistung entsprechend verstärkt und angepasst. Ein aussergewöhnlich aufwendig restaurierter und technisch konsequent optimierter Firebird Formula 400, der die legendäre Optik des frühen 70er-Jahre-Muscle-Cars mit beeindruckender Performance verbindet. Viele Unterlagen und Rechnungen sowie ein Benutzerhandbuch, das GM-Werkstatthandbuch, ein Haynes Reparaturhandbuch und sogar ein Fisher Body Service Manual sind vorhanden.

Pure American muscle—the 1972 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 is one of the most fascinating and, at the same time, rarest examples from the golden era of American muscle cars.

This legendary Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 has been completely restored and rebuilt to the highest standards in recent years, with no expense spared. Well over CHF 200,000 was invested in the project. The body and interior were fully restored, the entire electrical system—including all wiring harnesses—was replaced, and all mechanical components were either replaced or professionally overhauled. The 400-cui Pontiac V8 was completely rebuilt and upgraded to significantly greater displacement and power with a 468-cui stroker kit. Power is transmitted via a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. All technical components were reinforced and adapted to accommodate the increased engine power. An exceptionally meticulously restored and technically optimized Firebird Formula 400 that combines the legendary look of an early ’70s muscle car with impressive performance. Extensive documentation and invoices are included, as well as an owner’s manual, the GM workshop manual, a Haynes repair manual, and even a Fisher Body service manual.
